Position Overview


Position Summary
Facilites Grounds Superintendent. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Grounds Division. These duties include but are not limited to: assigning daily duties to the landscape crew; address personnel matters (monitor leave status, punches, attendance); complete set ups for students on and off campus activities (staging, tents, tables, chairs, step shows, outdoor activities, graduations, etc.); complete employee work plans, interim and yearly evaluations on schedule; schedules work based on work orders received; confirm that work orders are properly closed and confirm departmental fund number if appropriate. Additional duties are: Has been assigned the task of overseeing the landscape care of Civitan Park. Will conduct random inspections. Wholly responsible for tent set-up and dismantling during athletic events. Ensures that all code compliances are met during tent set-up. Arrange for special needs and communicate those needs effectively with the appropriate personnel. Managing Work & Performances: Explains and applies work rules, standards and guidelines. Ensures employees are using safety precautions in operating grounds equipment and vehicles. Stays informed about equipment upgrades. Managing Work Processes and Training: Monitors work of staff to assess and problem-solve. Periodically assists employees in the performance of duties. Takes advantage of landscape seminars and training sessions.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
To provide excellent customer service, houskeeping, landscape and moving and hauling services to the university.
