Position: Strategic Initiative Leader - Suplhur Products

Primary Location: Home based United States (ability to travel 50%, US and Canada)

Reports to: VP of of Manufacturing, Acid, SPPC

Compensation: $180,000- 190,000+ Bonus + Benefits (salaried, exempt)

About this Role and About You

We are seeking a dynamic change management leader who will be a valuable member in contributing to Chemtrade' s future. The Strategic Initiative Leader plays a key role in the leadership and direction in Chemtrade' s Sulphur Products and Performance Chemicals (SPPC) operations. This person is responsible for leading and driving Mechanical Reliability, Operational Excellence, and Technology Programs within the business. Focus will be given to mechanical integrity, electrical reliability, SAP CMMS, FMEAs, turnarounds, root cause analysis, availability & OEE. This person will work with Plant Managers to drive program ownership to the site and communicate and leverage learnings from other plants. In addition, he/she will help to seek out new technologies and how they can be applied to improve site reliability while also standardizing technology and work practices across all sites. He/She will also work with plant managers, regional managers, greenbelts, MBB, and other engineering resources within the company to identify and capitalize on productivity projects within the SPPC sites.

This opportunity offers future development and progression towards an Operational Director role.

Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 - 15 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience in both a maintenance and reliability environment and operations management.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred
  • Adept at helping teams identify improvement opportunities and driving change, especially transformational change.
  • Maintenance reliability experience is desired with the understanding of mechanical integrity, maintenance management, process control systems, and life cycle analysis
  • Effective change management leadership capabilities with proven abilities to manage sophisticated projects and develop/build and execute on change management plans and strategies that will drive impact
  • Lean Six Sigma will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated success in building high achieving teams
  • Ability to build trust and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist sites to implement corporate processes and programs including Mechanical Integrity Program, SAP PM, Asset Life Cycle Management, PM Effectiveness, Root Cause Analysis,
  • Assist the Corporate Reliability Teams to support turnarounds, breakdowns, site inspections, etc. as needed.
  • Assist sites to implement systems to maintain well documented inspection reports, and ensure action items are tracked and transferred to the site reliability risk registers
  • As Member of the Corporate Reliability and Productivity Team -Provide SPPC input into both steering team setting goals and direction and collaborate with other members across the businesses to drive the reliability mindset and drive improvements
  • Assist the sites in identification of productivity projects
  • Provide support to Greenbelts and Greenbelt Candidates in identifying, coaching, and executing projects.
  • Utilize Operational data (OEE, Period cost, production, reliability, manpower...) to identify opportunities and improvements and develop action plan. Partner with Plant Managers to drive this change.
  • Provide feedback and to ensure Capital Projects meet current standards
  • Assist sites in development of annual capital plans to assure reliability and productivity projects are properly identified and quantify improvements from execution of projects (drive OEE improvement)
  • Lead Root Cause Investigations that meet the appropriate corporate threshold.
  • Lead the business technology training program, ensuring all team members have the appropriate level of training for their assigned roles.
