The Opportunity:

Students or graduates who are hired for a temporary job in order to gain on-the-job work experience. This job profile is used for intern associates in the USA only.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(List in order of importance)

  • Assist in reporting and understanding Avantor's financial and operational results, helping to drive improved business performance.
  • Perform tasks for identified areas of responsibility including:
    • Participation in the month-end close process.
    • Periodic revenue and P&L forecast updates.
    • Work on components of larger financial system projects.
    • Provide financial information support to the investor relations function.
  • Will learn to understand financial budgets, develop project management skills, and improve analytical/critical reasoning skills.
  • Will hone the ability to effectively communicate with commercial, operations, and finance functions.
  • Report business financial results in a manner that drives comprehensive understanding and actionable improvement.
  • Manages multiple priorities to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to drive effective management decision-making and maximize financial performance.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • Enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and majoring in Finance, Accounting or in a quantitative/analytically focused subject area.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Share Point
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
