About the Role
As a Systems Data Architect you will focus on the development of advanced vehicle electronics software data architectures for ground combat vehicles. This will include a focus on researching, studying, designing and executing advanced concepts which will enable GDLS to successfully capture, execute, and grow US-based programs of record, and also position this set of emerging technologies to compete and grow in international markets.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
(Specific tasks include but are not limited to and under the guidance of senior engineers)
- Lead software data design and development efforts regarding a mix of advanced capabilities, including but not limited to
- Embedded Controller Development
- Software Architecture Decisions
- Support services / APIs
- Work with vendors/partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems seemingly onto GDLS platforms
- Understanding of feature/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases
- Provide direction for team members including technology roadmaps and mentorship
- Generate documentation, software code and other artifacts for technology transfer to production programs
- Participate in internal and customer demonstrations
- Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system
- Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and assess solutions to defects
- Conduct research and evaluation of emerging techniques regarding software architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies
Qualifications Sought
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field desired. Associates degree with relevant experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- 5-7 years of applicable experience
- Experience with Time Sensitive Network (TSN) architectures
- Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture designs
- Data Distribution Service (DDS) experience
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
- Experience with NGVA (NATO Ground Vehicle Architecture) data model
- Experience with UKGVA (UK Ground Vehicle Architecture) data model
- Experience with hardware that adheres to military standards
- Experience with User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
- Multicast network experience
- Ability to multi-task, meet or exceed deadlines, and build strong team relationship with members of the communications and strategy teams
- Microsoft Office experience including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Additional Information / Desired Experience
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
- This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
- The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work overtime when required
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
- Ability to travel (mostly domestic, some international) up to 15%
