JOB SUMMARY

The Analyst I- Logistics a multi-faceted role responsible for enhancement and enrichment of our customer experience by ensuring material availability, setting priorities for production and order expedition and managing all aspects of logistics from Westlake to the end customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General

  • Uphold Westlake's Safety Standards - Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment

  • Must present him/herself in a professional manner to internal/external customers, at all times.

  • Adhere to all company rules, policies and procedures

  • Good organizational and administrative skills

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Logistics:

  • Coordinate loads for customers (Company managed freight) inclusive of building trucks in the most economical method for our customers

  • Support international shipments and ensure appropriate documentation is provided for international shipments

  • Examining products and packaging and transport method to ensure optimal freight costs for end customers

  • Track and analyze mis-shipments and implement procedures to rectify

  • Track delivery progress

  • Transport goods from place of origin to assigned destination

Customer Experience:

  • Manage appointments for loading of trucks at Distribution Centers

  • Responding to customers or shipper questions as well as complaints

  • Provide routing information and issue shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time to their correct destination

  • Resolve shipping related issues to avoid delays to customers

  • Advise customers of methods of shipment and shipping documents

  • Verification of invoice vs quotes rates to reduce billing discrepancies to <1%.

  • Ensure timely and safe delivery to clients

  • Communication about shipment orders, request for tracking information and handling returns.

  • Respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to appropriate channels

  • Communication with customers, customer service and sales reps if customer is impacted by shipping delay

Coordination Role:

  • Coordination with Supply Chain to ensure lanes and costs are properly defined

  • Feedback to Supply Chain competitive lane costs versus Westlake quotes lane costs.

  • Coordination with appropriate distribution centers of material requirements to ensure availability of stock to service customers

  • Coordination of multiple drop to customer from multiple sources if required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in working in a customer focused role

  • Excellent skills both written and verbal

  • SAP enterprise software and Microsoft Office highly desirable

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Fast learner

  • Team player, reliable and high work integrity

  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful

  • Place upmost importance on working safely

  • Communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other levels of personnel, in person and on the telephone

  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented

  • Organized

  • Work well under time constraint

  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Prolong standing or in stationary position

  • Complete repetitive movements such as typing

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

  • Complete repetitive movements

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)

  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities

  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders

  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
