Key Position Details:

  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
  • 8/12-hour day/evening/night shifts
  • Occasional weekends

Job Description:

Provides daily operations support of emergency medical services operations. Coordinates and monitors services, performance, and productivity levels. Participates in incident command structure during major events. Communicates, supports, manages, and educates employees.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Leadership of employees.
    • Creates and manages staff work schedules.
    • Provides feedback and on going development of employees.
    • Analyzes performance metrics to locate and resolve issues and trends.
    • Manages training accountability and certification requirement of employees.
  • Department operations.
    • Defines individual and team goals.
    • Monitors staff and department performance and productivity levels and proposes ways to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
    • Analyzes and identifies problem areas and adjusts processes and staffing priorities.
    • Participates in incident command structure during major events.
    • Investigates, documents, reports, and resolves concerns, complaints, and incidents.
  • Community public safety.
    • May work with community public safety partners and corporate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Paramedicine, Emergency Medical Services, or related field within 36 months of hire
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in pre-hospital setting as a paramedic or

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of leadership experience

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certified Paramedic - MN Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board required if working in the paramedic supervisory role upon hire and
  • FEMA100-Intro to Incident Command System - FEMA Management institute required within 90 days and
  • FEMA200-ICS Single Res-Initial Action - FEMA Management institute required within 90 days and
  • FEMA700-Natl Inc Mgmt System-Intro - FEMA Management institute required within 90 days and
  • Paramedic supervisor - Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association
  • EMT supervisor - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart Association
  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment

Physical Demands

Pay Range

Pay Range: $37.67 to $51.63 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
