The City of Pasadena, California is seeking a visionary Director of Housing to plan, direct, and coordinate activities across various housing production and rehabilitation programs, including low- and moderate-income housing, Section 8, affordable rental housing, and emergency shelter facilities. Pasadena boasts a unique and innovative housing program, distinguished as one of only four cities in Los Angeles County-out of a total of 88-that operates its own continuum of care.

The City's forward-thinking housing approach promotes mixed-use developments that seamlessly blend residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The City prioritizes green building practices to enhance energy efficiency. The City also collaborates with local organizations to create a diverse range of housing options, including affordable units and senior housing. The ideal candidate will continue the department's legacy of innovation while bringing their own creativity and strategic vision to the role. The Director will oversee an approximate FY 2025 budget of $46 million and approximately 100 staff. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of low- and moderate-income housing finance programs, subsidized and affordable housing, as well as modern principles and practices of housing development and rehabilitation.
