Systems Engineer - Air Cargo Security

About the Role:
ISPA Technology is seeking a highly motivated and innovative
Systems Engineer to join our team in developing and implementing cutting-edge security solutions for air cargo. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding the aviation system by applying systems engineering principles to evaluate, adapt, and develop advanced technologies for detecting and mitigating emerging threats to air cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and Adapt: Assess and adapt existing commercial air cargo screening solutions to effectively address current and evolving threat scenarios.
- Lead Innovation: Guide and lead long-term research and development initiatives, including requirements analysis, technology maturation, system design, integration, and testing of new detection technologies.
- Establish Standards: Collaborate with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to develop and refine detection standards for emerging air cargo threats.
- Develop Alarm Resolution Protocols: Support TSA in designing and implementing efficient and effective alarm resolution procedures for deployed security systems.
- Foster Collaboration: Serve as a key technical liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial, government, and academic partners to advance innovation and ensure compliance with TSA standards.
- Develop Expertise: Gain in-depth knowledge of relevant detection technologies and techniques, such as x-ray systems, Raman spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in applying systems engineering principles, including verification, validation, and lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and support TSA initiatives.
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required.
- Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with air cargo security systems and threat analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant detection technologies (x-ray, Raman spectroscopy, mass spectrometry).
- Experience with requirements analysis, system design, and testing methodologies.
