Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting members through the loan process once applications are submitted. They will assist with questions or concerns as it relates to their loan application. Responsibilities also include assisting the Credit Union to increase sales, the expansion of existing member's relationships and the development of new business. Outstanding member and interdepartmental service must be delivered to meet or exceed service satisfaction standards. These responsibilities are managed within all Credit Union policies and procedures as well as all applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Communicates with applicants to explain the risks and benefits, as well as the terms of loan products. Researches related loan background information as appropriate: employment verification, debt ratio, review of credit report etc. Provides resources and additional information to declined members to increase their opportunity for future approval.
  • Submits loan applications to Loan Officers for underwriting decisions and communicates the results of the decision to applicants.
  • Coordinates with the Funding Team and the member to manage the funding process
  • Confers with Loan Officers and/or Loan Funders to assist in resolving loan application issues.
  • Communicates with loan applicants to gather any needed or requested information needed to obtain a final loan decision.
  • Uses good judgement as to what to communicate and to whom as well as the best way to communicate.
  • Cross-sells Credit Union products and services to have members expand their relationship with the Credit Union and closes the sale of additional products and services. Serves as the primary contact for all potential new and existing members who submit a loan application.
  • Educates members to support and promote the features and benefits of our products and services.
  • Communicates with other employees including underwriters, funders and other areas to the Credit Union to ensure that all parties are working together to achieve the decision and funding of all loan requests in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing a pipeline of members with loan applications, working call list, and member follow-up on a daily basis.
  • Assists members with questions regarding loan inquires.
  • Completes all required paperwork, enters all required information into systems and sends all completed paperwork to the appropriate location. Composes, prepares, and sends letters and other correspondence to members.
  • Performs administrative duties, including data entry and information retrieval, as needed to support member service responsibilities.
  • Responsible for compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by the Credit Union and NCUA and any applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Works on special projects and performs other duties as instructed or assigned by your Supervisor.
  • Facilitate account opening process for new members to expedite funding.
  • Reissue loan documents per member request.
  • Communicate with Auto Dealerships to support member purchases.


Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent work related experience. Must have one year of experience providing direct customer/member service. Proven service skills in a financial institution is preferred. Experience working on relatively complex financial products; have excellent knowledge of features and benefits of financial products; possess knowledge of NCUA or banking regulations and compliance factors and possess strong knowledge of lending practices. Must possess experience on related financial institution customer service systems, or closely related financial data input and retrieval systems/equipment Demonstrates customer service and sales skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation:

Salary Range per hour, depending on experience and qualifications



  • $15.43 - $21.59

Work Location and Physical Demands:

This position is located at Corporate Headquarters. Employees in this role may apply for a hybrid work schedule after the successful completion of their 90-day conditional period. Approval is subject to performance, department needs, organizational resources, and manager's discretion. The schedule may include some Holidays and Saturday hours based on departmental needs.
