Job Title: Network Specialist

Location with zip code: Centreville, VA 20120

Duration: 6 Months

Pay Rate: $50/hr. to $55/hr. on W2 without benefits

Shift Timing: Mon-Fri.: 7:30am-4pm

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
  • Install and configure networking hardware (Cisco and Palo Alto).
  • Provision and manage Internet circuits (DIA\Broadband) for field offices.
  • Design and coordinate implementation of the cable plant for field offices.
  • Travel to field office for network implementation.
  • Process network maintenance renewals.
  • Manage network support issues within ticketing system.
  • Have knowledge of new IT Infrastructure technologies, processes, methodologies and best practices.
  • Manage infrastructure projects, including gathering requirements, design, build, implementation and project management.
  • Perform post-implementation follow-ups to ensure infrastructure stability.


Required Education:

  • 4-year degree in Computer related curriculum and 3-7 years of hands on network experience installing\configuring network devices . Those candidates without a degree will be required to have an additional 5 years of relevant experience for consideration.


Certifications:

  • Cisco Professional Certifications preferred (CCNA, CCNP).


Required Skills:

  • Solid background in network administration and configuration (switches\routers).
  • Understanding of network operating systems (e.g. Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-IOS).
  • Understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. Logic Monitor).
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and methodologies.
  • Understanding of project delivery within an Agile framework.
  • An understanding of the strategic impacts of enterprise initiatives, the supporting IT systems and architecture.
  • Ability to facilitate the integration of all infrastructure technologies that will support the global reach of the Parsons enterprise.
  • Written and oral communication skills appropriate to communicate with a wide variety of individuals (employees and all levels of management) throughout the organization and outside of the organization (i.e. clients, vendors).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or oversight.
  • Preferred experience with scripting and automation (e.g. Python, Ansible).
  • Preferred experience with SDWAN technology.
