Job Title: Accountant with Governmental Accounting Location: Richmond, VA 23219 Pay Rate: $35.00/hr. without benefits Duration: 6+ months Must- Haves: Must have proven supervisory experience. Job Description: The Department seeks an accounting professional to fill the position of Revenue Accounting Manager. This position will reconcile our internal accounting system to ensure all accounting for tax transactions such as refunds, payments, bills, and others are correct and that all distributions to localities, state agencies, and other entities are made timely and accurately. This position also supervises all staff in the Revenue Accounting Office and ensures that staff is cross-trained on all duties and the appropriate staffing levels are maintained. Required Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with state governmental accounting Experience testing or creating revenue accounting transactions Experience distributing revenue to localities or other state entities Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience supervising, coaching, and evaluating the performance of staff members Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel Additional Considerations: Extensive knowledge and work experience in accounting CPA (Certified Public Accountant) CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager)
