We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer Level II to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a commitment to ensuring the stability and efficiency of our network infrastructure. This role involves a blend of hands-on technical work, strategic planning, and collaboration with other departments.

Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation
  • Design, plan, and implement network solutions to meet business requirements
  • Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and other network devices
  • Ensure network scalability and performance optimization
  • Conduct site surveys and network assessments
  • Regularly review and optimize network performance, identifying and addressing any bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Implement network performance monitoring tools and analyze data to improve network reliability
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting
  • Monitor network performance and availability using various tools and techniques
  • Identify and resolve network issues in a timely manner
  • Perform root cause analysis for network-related incidents
  • Prepare regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and project progress for management review.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting procedures
  • Create and maintain site diagrams
Network Security
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols and best practices
  • Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and standards
  • Respond to security incidents and implement corrective measures
Collaboration and Support
  • Work closely with other IT teams to support overall IT infrastructure
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior network engineers and other staff
  • Configuring and troubleshooting servers, managing user accounts, and overseeing backup and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers for network-related projects
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
  • Research and evaluate new technologies while participating in evaluation of vendor proposals

The targeted compensation for this position is between $90K - $110K base plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of IT network engineering experience required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following: Microsoft M365, Visio, Desktop Equipment Dell, Cisco Catalyst, Meraki switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki MX firewalls, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco/Meraki Access Points, Client VPN and Point-to-Point VPN solutions - emphasis on Palo Alto and Meraki solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows servers. Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless Protocols
  • Experience with cloud networking, including AWS
  • Experience with VoIP and unified communications systems
  • The ability to work night and weekends as needed
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs
