Job Title: Human Resources Site Head

Organization: InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Cipla Subsidiary

Location: Central Islip, Long Island, NY (relocation available)

Office Requirements: Daily, on-site

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $150K to $200K + Bonus

TheHuman Resources Site Headhas overall responsibility for the HR function across Cipla's North America manufacturing sites in Central Islip, NY, and Fall River, MA.

TheHuman Resources Site Headis crucial in supporting business and functional teams to achieve organizational objectives and deliver effective HR services.

TheHuman Resources Site Headresponsibilities include overseeing employee lifecycle events, managing HR processes, and providing support as a Human Resources Business Partner in areas such as Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Talent Development, Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Relations and involves collaboration with business units, regional and corporate HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), and HR Business Partners (HRBPs).

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Business Partner:



  • Support the site leadership team, managers, and staff in achieving strategic business objectives.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to support key HR processes.
  • Lead, manage, and coach 2-4 experienced HR Business Partners (HRBPs).
  • Evaluate company structure and design to achieve business goals through workforce planning and talent management strategies.



Talent Acquisition:



  • Manage the recruitment process in collaboration with the TA COE, including identifying potential resourcing solutions (internal or external) and supporting DE&I targets.
  • Oversee local recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including exit interviews, candidate screening, and administration of pre-employment checks and employment offers.
  • Ensure pre-employment background checks, work authorization checks, and other hiring requirements are completed.



Performance Management:



  • Oversee the performance management system for employees, following corporate HR COE guidelines.
  • Manage all performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, year-end reviews, and PIPs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance-related data and documentation.
  • Participate in employee calibration and provide input.
  • Train new employees on performance management processes.
  • Ensure the performance management process is on track, including goal setting, reviews, and rating calibration.
  • Identify and facilitate performance improvement plans with leadership as needed.



Talent Management:



  • Collaborate with corporate Talent and L&D COE to enhance employee capability through the Talent and Learning roadmap.
  • Partner with the business to identify learning and development opportunities.
  • Support local Talent Management initiatives and plans.



Employee Relations:



  • Manage employee lifecycle activities to deliver HR services aligned with organizational needs.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and policy clarifications.
  • Oversee exit processes, including exit interviews.
  • Ensure HRIS data maintenance by the team.
  • Manage non-employee HR matters (e.g., consultants, contractors, temporary workers).
  • Handle HR policy interpretation, employee complaints, corrective actions, investigations, and hiring/terminations support.
  • Guide the HRBP team in resolving complex employee relations issues and conducting effective investigations.
  • Provide a dedicated HR advisory service covering absence, health issues, conduct, capability, grievances, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment legislation.



HR Projects, Culture, and Engagement:



  • Support employee engagement surveys and action planning locally.
  • Partner with key stakeholders within HR COEs to ensure HR projects and initiatives are communicated and implemented locally.
  • Identify local projects and HR initiatives in line with team requirements, including Culture Diagnosis activities.
  • Facilitate employee engagement initiatives for the sites as part of North America-wide and local initiatives.
  • Organize town halls to provide regular updates on business/functional performance.
  • Support Cipla's values and culture at the sites.
  • Support initiatives like Listening Post, Suggestion Management, and other interventions as per guidelines.



Compensation, Benefits, and Other Support:



  • Collaborate with C&B and Org Effectiveness COEs to manage site people budget versus actuals, overtime utilization, and spend.
  • Facilitate job analysis, banding, FLSA classifications, and compensation programs for the sites.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines and delegation of authority on salary reviews to maintain internal parity and budget constraints.
  • Manage site Workers' Compensation and maintain OSHA logs, ensuring follow-up on return-to-work requirements.
  • Oversee approved leaves, disability cases, and return-to-work processes.
  • Partner with various benefits providers to manage health, disability, and insurance programs.
  • Administer corporate benefit programs and facilitate new hire and annual enrollment processes.



Educational Qualifications & Relevant Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related studies.
  • SHRM/HRCI certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive HR experience, with at least five years managing HR team members.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
  • Proven experience building and leading HR teams.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and evaluation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to work hands-on and deliver on multiple priorities.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, counsel, and motivate others to achieve optimal performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, compensation philosophies, HR best practices, trends, and issues.
  • Proven relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to gain trust and influence people.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel (Pivot tables, lookups), and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to other facilities/sites.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and ensure compliance with mandatory corporate training requirements (Ethics, Conflict of Interest, etc.).
