Description
The SVP of Enterprise Data & Analytics is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and updating the credit unions data governance framework in addition to providing leadership for the advanced analytic function at First Tech Federal Credit Union. He/She/They will partner with senior leaders across the organization to design, implement, reinforce, and support governance policies, processes, and tools that improve data quality, reduce data silos, help ensure compliance and security and distribute data access appropriately. This role will partner with executive leadership to design the credit union strategy on how data policies drive member value.
Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:
Job Duties
  • Responsible for the utilization and governance of data across the organization by overseeing a range of data-related functions, ensuring the credit union gets the most out of our collective data. This includes data management, ensuring data quality, and creating, leading, managing, and supporting the enterprise data strategy partnering with functions, businesses, and leaders across the credit union.
  • Responsible for data analytics and business intelligence by developing, implementing, and managing tools/technology that enable the organization to draw valuable insights from data that drive the business forward by leveraging creative solutions.
  • Responsible for creating and driving AI capabilities at the enterprise level
  • Responsible for multiple aspects of data management and operations for the credit union, including database administration and design, data architecture, data analytics, governance, and quality.
  • Lead efforts in designing and executing various approaches to manage data through every stage of its lifecycle, from data collection, processing, storage, sharing, and usage to archival and deletion.
  • Responsible for creating targeted policies/practices that maximize the value and use of data at each stage of its lifecycle.
  • Lead efforts though internal partnerships to align the credit unions organizational data analytics capabilities with its business objectives. Ensure the credit union has the right tools and guidance needed to understand datasets and generate insights that drive business results. Partnering with businesses to integrate the data insights into their workflows, planning and decision-making processes.
  • Partner with the Chief Technology Officer, , Chief Risk Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Legal Officer, and the VP of Cyber, to design, implement, monitor, and support various strategies/tactics/measures that protect data such as encryption, data backups, firewalls, authentication and authorization, identity an access management, data loss prevention tools, etc.
  • Owns, plays a pivotal role, and/or leads/manages many areas of data management including but not limited to the following:
    • Data operations
      • Data collection; storage, management, accessibility, and usability
    • Data quality management
      • Data validation processes ensuring/guaranteeing that data is precise, comprehensive, and ability to verify errors, inconsistencies, and missing data.
      • Data cleansing by eliminating or rectifying inaccurate, incomplete, or duplicated data.
      • Monitoring data accuracy through consistent cadence to verify data for errors, inconsistencies, or missing data, ensuring the credit unions data remains reliable for decision-making and optimizing operations.
    • Establish and operate Data Access Management and usage tracking in line with our compliance standards
    • Driving business value through data analytics
      • Ensure organizational data can be extracted to inform meaningful and actionable insights utilizing various statistical and computational techniques to identify trends within data sets.
    • Ensuring data governance and security, and ensuring compliance with government and/or regulatory agency requirements including but not limited to the following.
      • Data governance; strong security standards; compliance with applicable regulations, and protecting sensitive information.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant experience, preferably within the financial services industry and/or complex organizations with a member/customer centric culture.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across the credit union to gain alignment.
  • Proven competencies in leadership and management with the ability to effectively inspire and manage a highly diverse workforce ranging from Ph(d) data scientists to data entry level professionals.
  • Ability to influence through partnerships, education, and finding common ground essential.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data management principles and practices
  • Expertise in data analytics, statistical methods, and machine learning.
  • Demonstrated experience of organizational information and data needs assessment and strategy development/execution in complex environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to take complex technical ideas and ensure understanding across the organization.
  • Ability to contribute to and deliver a business plan and strategy that is in alignment with credit union and department objectives
  • Prior experience leading transformation and obtaining organizational buy-in.
  • Ability to act as a player coach with a level of hands-on data management experience.
  • Work experience in regulated environment (Financial Institutions) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Master Data Management practices, Enterprise Data Warehouse's.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 | (HYBRID)
Target Compensation in Hillsboro, OR: $260k - $290k annually + annual bonus
