Could you be the full-time onsite Aftermarket Electrical Engineer in Naperville, IL, US we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive electrical engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll provide essential engineering solutions that directly contribute to the success of our Aftermarket Customers. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Rolling Stock Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Auditors, Platform, Quality, Validation and Testing), ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications, and much more.

We'll look to you for:




  • Ensuring all parts proposals meet customer specifications in form, fit, and function, along with railway safety, reliability, industrial norms, and standards,



  • Being thoroughly familiar with project specifications and requirements relating to electrical design tasks for the parts requested,



  • Preparing electrical and interface schematics, drawings, and documentation for assigned systems and meeting deliverable schedules,



  • Coordinating and leading efforts with vendors to confirm compliance with customer requirements and interfacing with end customers and vendors to ensure design compliance and validity,



  • Maintaining knowledge of rail and electrical-electronic norms and standards such as FRA, AAR, IEEE, ANSI, etc.,



  • Working on bid proposals to repair, redesign, and overhaul electrical equipment, printed circuit boards, and in general electrical and electronics parts used in the rail industry,



  • Specifying and selecting electrical or electronic components to be applied in the parts and providing customer technical support as needed,



  • Operating in the ALSTOM CCB Change Control Board and leading Design Reviews and Gate Reviews for electrical parts.

  • Degree in Railway Engineering, Electronics, Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering,



  • Experience or understanding of rail industry standards and design, or similar industry products such as transportation vehicles, and/or high-low voltage equipment, and discrete electronic components,



  • Knowledge of rolling stock systems and components,



  • Familiarity with safety management systems and safety risk assessment,



  • Understanding of engineering design change process, basic design for manufacturing, GD&T, etc.,



  • Ability to prepare procurement specifications and technical requirements from customer specifications,



  • Proficiency in the use of electrical/electronics design tools, MS Office, PDM, SAP, GSI, and Maximo (other ERP tools).

Salary range:$85,000 - $120,000
