About the role:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising, directing, coordinating, and planning the work of the Facilities Maintenance crew. The role is responsible to provide safe and efficient execution of assigned work as scheduled, monitor crew time, and appropriate response to emergencies. Rotational shift and weekend work will be required.

Major Activities:

  • Plan and assign work, including repair of crucibles, sheet metal repairs to buildings, floor brick repair, fabrication of wood parts, refractory repair, scaffold construction, and concrete work.
  • Lead safety pre-job reviews as well as observations of work executed on shift.
  • Acts to maximize the productivity and quality of the work assigned to their work force and gives prompt attention to emergency jobs.
  • Submits accurate reports of work execution activities.
  • Administers company policies as they relate to assigned personnel.
  • Maintains close liaison with production, support groups, other maintenance planners, engineers, and other crew leaders
  • Daily management of area(s) back log.
  • Work with area craft to develop complete job packages, including job plan (work instruction and required safety documentation), kit content, required equipment/special tools, required labor, required permits and drawings and requisitions required parts.
  • Complete work orders in the Alcoa CMMS to facilitate equipment histories.
  • Updates PM/PdM activities and incorporate requested changes/revisions, and/or improvements into the Alcoa CMMS.
  • Uses of work instruction to initiate kits; daily management for kit status and tracking.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel and procurement to ensure kit is complete within the required timeline.
  • Verify completed kit for content accuracy.
  • Provide support to Reliability Engineers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proven organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and overtime as required
  • 2 years' experience in heavy industry, maintenance, or construction

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience performing maintenance of facilities and infrastructure
  • Proven experience working with unionized workforces
  • Proficiency in utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and lead skilled craft workers.
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
