Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Nutritionist for the department of the Dining Services.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides medical nutrition therapy and dietary accommodations for students with dietary restrictions.
- Involved in research projects related to operations and nutrition, to advance the missions and initiatives of Dining Services and Student Affairs.
- Oversight of menus related to accuracy of nutrition.
- Creates and implements nutrition education and wellness-related programs on campus and assists with nutrition-focused practice-based learning experiences for undergraduate students and interns.
- Position will provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and accommodations (nutrition care plans), as well as facilitate and implement nutrition programming.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences or related field with at least five years of nutrition experience.

Certifications/Licenses |
- Must be an accredited Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with an active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience working in a University setting providing nutrition therapy and implementing community nutrition programs.
- Prior experience with research and assessment. Five years of nutrition experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Excellent communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills with students, staff, faculty, administrators, and at times, the media.
- Experience with research including development of protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications. Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and Food Safety Standards.
- Strong skills in computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, FoodPro, Canva, Qualtrics, etc.), social media and website content development, and be able to develop educational materials for print and electronic distribution.
- Advanced knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and handling dietary restrictions for high-level and life-threatening dietary needs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- The incumbent performs job duties in a normal business office environment.
- Tasks are generally carried out with no unusual physical or environmental demands.
- While performing duties of this job the incumbent is regularly required to sit at a desk and work with a computer (including typing) for extended periods of time.
- Specific physical abilities required by this job include operating basic office equipment such as personal computers, duplicating machines, fax machines, and standard office telephones.
- The incumbent will be required to attend meetings, both on-site and off-site, via phone and videoconference.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry educational supplies up to 50 lbs., and travel across campuses for meetings, trainings, and events.

Special Conditions |
- This position is per Diem to include on-site work arrangement and remote work as needed at the discretion of Dining Services Executive Office.
