Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for evaluating and treating clients with physical and/or cognitive disabilities in order to improve client's functional independence. Services are provided in a variety of settings including nursing home, home health care, and contracted facilities. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility.This position is responsible for supporting Tabitha's philosophy of L.I.V.E: Love your job, Invite optimism, Vision success, Embrace the Mission. Qualifications LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Nebraska Occupational Therapy license. Current C.P.R. certification required. Valid Nebraska driver's license and state required minimum auto insurance coverage required. EDUCATION/TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited school in Occupational Therapy required. One year of experience preferred. Geriatric experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
WORKING CONDITIONS May encounter combative clients. Indoor environment, may be exposed to infectious diseases. Must be knowledgeable of, and follow, all safety and infection control procedures for position including Standard Precautions to prevent injury to self and others. Traveling is required when conducting home health or contract site client visits. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB Must be able to walk, crouch, and kneel much of the time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for transferring clients and moving equipment. EQUIPMENT OPERATION Continuous use of: Adaptive equipment for ADL's (reachers, eating devices, dressing aides), wheelchairs/seating materials and tools, dynamometers, splints, goniometer, material handling, kitchen utensils. Frequent use of: telephone, Dictaphones Occasional use of: paraffin, hot packs.
