Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking a Telemetry Systems Coordinator and Supervisor supporting government customer on Makaha Ridge, Hawai'i.

Manages the Telemetry Systems Group within the Range Systems Department to ensure equipment installed, configured and ready to support operations, develop mission plans, successfully execute operational requirements and provide accurate and reliable data and data products to meet scheduled requirements in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. Is the on-site telemetry coordinator.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Establishes operating policy for the Telemetry Systems Department
  • Provides Telemetry Subject Management Expertise as needed.
  • Monitors and reviews personnel performance and provides subordinates with counseling and guidance as required.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with government counterparts and other Koa Lani elements to assure mutual awareness of Departments status and direction.
  • Implements and carries out Security and Safety programs for the Department.
  • Plans and implements the installation and acceptance testing of new and relocated equipment and software systems.
  • Assists in the planning, scheduling and monitoring of Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) of Telemetry Systems.
  • Directs the development, revision and updating of operation and maintenance procedures for the Department's systems and equipment.
  • Provides technical expertise at management meetings, planning and scheduling meetings and conferences as required.
  • Enforces company's work and safety rules.
  • Provides subordinates with training and guidance in Quality Assurance and Company Policy and Procedures.
  • Prepares and submits status reports and technical reports and briefs, as required, to Senior Management and Customers in timely manner.
  • Prepares or reviews and approves for dissemination all Department Contract Data requirements (CDRL).
  • Telemetry Coordinator shall be point of contact for the various Telemetry Subsystems (i.e. Makaha TM, Kokee TM, MATSS/MRSS TM, and TOSR).
  • Shall be at the control system console during all operations where telemetry is required per PMRF range schedule.
  • For mission planning, a Telemetry Coordinator shall develop a plan on how all telemetry subsystems can meet mission requirements specified in program/project UDS documentation or documents provided by PMRF Telemetry Program Manager in the absence of UDS documentation.
  • Generate a mission support plan that will identify the subsystem assignments at Makaha Ridge Telemetry, Kokee Telemetry, Barking Sands Telemetry, MRSS Telemetry, and mission specific participants (i.e. KTF-Kauai Test Facility) to track, receive, record, decommutate, and display telemetry data.
  • Before a mission, a Telemetry Coordinator shall plan and ensure that all Telemetry subsystems (i.e. Makaha TM, Kokee TM, MRSS TM and TOSR) are configured in accordance with the approved mission Telemetry Support Plan and Mission OR/OD.
  • A Telemetry Coordinator shall coordinate with the PMRF TM Program Manager to attain approval for the contractor generated Telemetry Subsystems Operation Support Plan.
  • A Telemetry Coordinator shall coordinate with the PMRF Telemetry Program Manager to obtain approval to deviate any parameter specified in the approved Telemetry Support Plan.
  • During a mission, a Telemetry Coordinator shall ensure that mission telemetry support activity complies with the approved Operation Support Plan.
  • During a mission Telemetry systems operational support change requests shall be submitted to PMRF Mission Approval Authority for review and approval before any changes are made.
  • The Contractor shall provide a point of contact to PMRF TM Program Manager for all Telemetry Systems maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Environment:

Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 50 pounds (with a 2-person assist). Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, crawling, kneeling or cramped work, requiring repeated stooping, and work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing. The environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, in a confined work area, much like an office laboratory, field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or software), science (physics), or mathematics.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in telemetry systems along with two years of technical school can be substituted for a college education
  • A Master's Degree in Business Administration or Engineering from an accredited college or university may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of the required general experience.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Five (5) years of experience in management or supervision of operations and maintenance of electronic and/or electro/mechanical systems or related field is desired..
  • MICROSOFT OFFICE: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio


REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
