Summary:

Responsible for providing tour and local visitor information and assistance, ticketing services and sales in the sky bridge, to guests at the Tramway.

Pay and Benefits:

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.

Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.'s long-term value.

Starting Rate:$15.00 - DOE


Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Ensure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service.
  • People-oriented and able to provide superior customer service.
  • Display a positive attitude that is contagious, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other associates.
  • Responsible for a balanced drawer.
  • Uses accuracy when ringing up a sale and counting back cash money. Use diplomacy when a customer's credit card is declined.
  • Functions as the respective supervisor (Ticket Agent or Host), with limited decision-making authority, during operational hours when manager is not on duty; striving to maintain and/or improve guest and/or ticketing services.
  • Assists the Guest Services Supervisor in establishing and nurturing a good working relationship between the Tramway, pass holders, vendors, and cruise ship sales staff, in order to secure and increase sales from, and offer quality services and products to, potential tramway guests.
  • Acts as one of the primary contacts to all guests in the sky bridge to ensure those riding down the tramway are properly ticketed. For those guests not properly ticketed, sell down tickets with a mobile POS system.
  • Oversees efforts to prevent the public from becoming nonpaying riders.
  • Will be giving directions to all guests regarding all mountain top attractions.
  • Responsible for giving all theater hosts their respective breaks and/or lunch breaks as needed. Familiar with theater operations at the upper terminal, Operates projection and sound system for the theater complex.
  • As an experienced Host Ticket Agent, provides correct tour and local visitor information and assistance to guests at a particular tramway station, ticketing services and sales, and/or assistance/guidance to subordinate Hosts or Ticket Agents, explaining the practices, procedures and techniques of providing excellent customer service to all incoming and outgoing passengers. Assigns tasks; checks quality of work performance; and makes follow-up suggestions for improvement.
  • Train and supervise subordinate hosts.
  • Works in conjunction with Tram Attendant and other tramway staff to ensure the line to ride down the tramway is kept in an orderly fashion and moving along, checking for wrist stamps, answering guest's questions, and problem solving.
  • Uses diplomacy to keep the situation from escalating when informing guests of any interruption of tramway operations.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to attend all scheduled meetings, orientations and trainings.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and follow oral and written instructions/directions.
  • Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Two (2) seasons of ticket agent or host, customer service or paraprofessional level experience involved with tourism, travel, and/or hospitality services, including cash handling tasks; AND
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills)

  • Current CPR Certification and First Aid training or the ability to obtain within 30-days.
  • Drug testing may be required.
  • Previous experience working in the visitor or hospitality industry or other customer service-related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
