JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision the Sr. Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for providing high level reporting and data
visualizations models to key management personnel. This person will be responsible for providing monthly/quarterly
and automated reports to SCM as well as other departments as needed. The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst will train
lower level analysts and assist the Manager, SC Systems & Analytics in projects that require additional effort or may
be larger in scale. The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst should provide their manager with up to date data and analytics for
review as well as provide backup support to the SCA I and II. The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst should be able to lead
medium to large scale projects with little to no supervision and continually look for opportunities for how our
operations at UTSW can be improved.

JOB DUTIES
- Support the Supply Chain areas of Analytics, Strategic Sourcing, Contracts Management, Purchasing, Materials Management Operations, Asset Management and Information Resources. This position reports directly to the Manager, SC Systems & Analytics.
- Primary data steward responsible for all department databases, source systems and data structures.
- Responsible for the abstraction of data, data mining and reporting. Identify key data points, perform analysis and compile meaningful recommendations / interpretations of results for consideration by internal and external stakeholders and external stakeholders.
- Manage departmental projects and serves as primary departmental contact for all reporting/data mining tasks.
- Defines and maintains project plan and schedules. Monitors compliance with definitions of project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Provides regular project status reports to departmental leadership.
- Assist other analysts with data needs and project coordination.
- Serve as technical lead and subject matter expert (SME) for all source data systems relevant to department operations. Shares information and analysis with department management teams on a recurring or as needed basis.
- Facilitate substitutions, standardization, and rejections of procured materials.
- Serve as lead technical contact for relevant data points and sources systems for institutional projects/platforms (i.e. EDW, Item Master, Commodity Codes, Organizational Dashboards, etc.)
- Responsible for data mapping/data architecture across department data fields and relevant source systems, utilizing process maps and Business Intelligence architecture tools.
- Lead development of procedural documents and SOP's/training tools that standardize Supply Chain Management and Analytics Operations.
- Primary point of contact for ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Model data using MS Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI and/or other data warehouse analytical tools.
- Enhance existing reports and queries, review accuracy and rebuild where necessary. Develop new reports and queries as needed.
- Assist Materials Management Operations and Hospital Operations with Inventory Management and other projects.
- Control access to Supply Chain Central and troubleshoot; add weekly/daily reports and run/maintain batch files.
- Review and coordinate supply chain processes and operations using (amongst others) interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, cases, scenarios, process maps, and task and workflow analysis.
- Serve as primary contact for consulting agencies (e.g. Huron and Gartner) and UT Alliance to provide metrics and reporting for benchmarking and analytical purposes.
- Develop and maintain departmental metrics and dashboards. Provide data for process measurement and identify indicators for future improvement opportunities. Help sustain and improve the ongoing measurement system.
- Support various technical solutions for Supply Chain such as the (PeopleSoft, SharePoint, Jaggaer, a Recall
- Management software, a GPO software, departmental Intranet site, etc.)
- Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
