Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. designs and manufactures the most technologically advanced Infrared (IR) and Electro-Optical (E-O) test instrumentation. In doing so, SBIR has become the preferred supplier to major domestic and international manufacturers of commercial and military E-O sensors and systems. $130,000/yr. - $160,000/yr. -- DOE Full-Time, M-F (on-site) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execution of the full software development life cycle, while working with the extended engineering team to ensure all software requirements are satisfied
- Writing of well-designed, testable code
- Implement algorithms to perform scientific measurements and calculations
- Interfacing with hardware components
- Documentation and maintenance of software functionality
- Maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading existing systems
- Implementing communications over Serial and Ethernet protocols
- Integration of software components into a fully-functional software system
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's level degree in computer science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in software development in an OOPL (We use C#)
- Experience designing and implementing GUIs
- Exposure to good software engineering practices and source control
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- The ability to be self-motivated with the skills to work both independently as well as with team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to document requirements and specifications
- Familiarity with Agile practices
PREFFERED SKILLS
- Experience with the .NET framework and WPF
- Experience building installers with WiX
- Experience with Avalonia UI
- Experience developing software using C++
- Experience with relational databases and RDBMS (SQLite, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with computer hardware and peripherals
- Familiarity with frame grabber and camera functionality implementations
