We are a mission-driven Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic located in Decatur, Illinois who is dedicated to improving mental health and substance use care to individuals in a multi-county area. Recovery Specialist


This position is available at Heritage Behavioral Health Center's Wellness Recovery Drop In Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for empowering individuals to set recovery goals, and take ownership of their recovery through a community that promotes personal growth, personal empowerment, responsibility, and greater independence.
Individuals employed in this program must have the ability to self-identify as a person in recovery from mental illness and committed to his/her own recovery in order to help others through their recovery. The facility is open 7 days per week - staff will be required to work weekend hours on a regular basis.

Education and Experience:

A minimum high school diploma or equivalent, at least 21 years of age, plus the willingness to work with people who are attempting to recover from a serious and persistent mental illness are required. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant human service field (or 5 years of experience in the social service field and ability to function as an MHP) is highly recommended. Candidates with the CRSS Certification (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) are preferred.

In addition, a valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance are required of all positions in the organization.

Salary Range: $37,440.00 To $645,760.00 Annually ($18.00 - $22.00 per hour)
