Duties & Responsibilities:



  • The Graphic Designer Animation Specialist shall provide support with written communications to internal and external stakeholders. The Graphic Designer shall support: the development of written content for various types of media and other supporting documents to communicate complex and technical information. This includes preparing written content for various types of media and instruction manuals (guides, journals, and other supporting documents) to communicate complex and technical information more easily. The Graphic Designer shall provide written content using associated style (AP) press and primary style guide.
  • The Graphic Designer shall provide support with production of images and video for internal and external stakeholders. This includes the production and preservation of images, photography and digital video product, and multimedia presentation design, preparation, production, and set-up services. This also includes commercial and industrial photography of various subjects.
  • The Graphic Designer shall provide support with creation of visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate audiences. The Graphic Designer shall support the use of digital illustration, photo/video editing using software and hardware equipment and layout software to create designs, creation of visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations that help deliver a desired message.
  • The Graphic Designer shall design layouts using a selection of colors, images, and typefaces. The Graphic Designer shall incorporate changes recommended by stakeholders into final work If copyright and or trademarked material is utilized, the Graphic Designer shall obtain approval prior to dissemination.
  • The Graphic Designer shall provide support with protocol matters involving planning, developing, managing, executing in all areas of the command protocol program to include conferences, ceremonies, briefings, official functions. The Graphic Designer shall include both high level foreign and domestic visits.
  • The Graphic Designer shall support event management and planning; planning and coordinating the organization's activities, ensuring protocol complies with legal and regulatory requirements and provide protocol office support, presentation coordination, attendance control, sustenance, signage, minutes, action items tracking, lessons learned and operations set up at all NSWC PHD Command special events, meetings, conferences, symposium, and program office or sponsor technical, and financial reviews.
  • The Graphic Designer shall provide multimedia presentation design, preparation, production, and set-up This support includes creating visual concepts, developing overall layout and production design, using digital illustration to create designs (e.g. font, color images, layout, style), and working with customers to develop visions for produced materials.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):



  • This position requires: Strong task management, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, and providing a high level of customer services with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers, colleagues, and command members at all levels and to foster business relationships.
  • This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


Minimum/General Experience:



  • Five years of experience in:

    • Developing a wide range of illustration assignments in the preparation of viewgraphs, wall charts, posters, fliers, brochures and Similar materials.
    • Design layouts and producing graphic designs as requested by serviced
    • Preparing illustrations for manuals, pamphlets, handbooks and similar types of publications.




Minimum Education:



  • High School Diploma
