Head of Sales, GENESYS (Gender Sorting System)

Location: Remote (Home-Based) - located anywhere in the US

The Head of Sales, GENESYS leads US commercial sales efforts for Ceva's new hatchery automation device called GENESYS - Gender Sorting System. GENESYS is designed to separate male and female chicks in the hatchery before transporting them to poultry farms. GENESYS uses artificial intelligence and a proprietary scanning system to accurately and rapidly distinguish between male and female chicks. By separating the male and female chicks, poultry producers can segregate operations into different bird sizes and customer-specific requirements. GENESYS can also enhance operational efficiencies and animal welfare.

The Head of Sales, GENESYS is a new role within Ceva that will serve as the commercial lead for all technical sales activities related to GENESYS. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of all aspects of poultry live production-hatcheries, feed mills, broilers, and breeders. They must also be able to develop a deep understanding of all the technical facets of GENESYS.

The Head of Sales, GENESYS collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Ceva's Strategic Account and territory sales managers, Veterinary Services, Vaccination Services and Equipment (VSE) teams, and Ceva's global hatchery equipment and automation teams, to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Execution: drives the success of GENESYS Gender Sorting System by developing and executing robust sales strategies aimed at achieving revenue targets and expanding market share. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying key opportunities, and crafting tailored approaches to engage potential customers effectively. Additionally, maintains and strengthens relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty while fostering long-term partnerships. Contributes to the sustained growth and success of the GENESYS Gender Sorting System.
  • Customer Engagement and Relationship Management: acts as the primary liaison between customers and the organization, focusing on understanding their needs and operational challenges. By leveraging technical expertise and product knowledge, they provide tailored solutions, ensuring the GENESYS system delivers maximum value to the customer. Conducts engaging presentations, live demonstrations, and in-depth technical discussions to showcase the capabilities and benefits of the device.
  • Technical and Commercial Collaboration: collaborates closely with the GENESYS Technical Support Manager, Ceva's Sales teams, Veterinary Services team, VSE team, and Ecat-iD Engineering Team to guarantee smooth and efficient installations of equipment and to promptly address and resolve any technical issues that arise.
  • Ensures customers receive reliable support for a positive experience with the equipment. Addresses customer feedback, using these insights to identify areas for enhancement and continuous improvement.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting: actively monitors market trends, competitor strategies, and evolving customer preferences to identify potential growth opportunities and mitigate risks. This insight-driven approach allows Ceva to stay ahead of industry developments and tailor sales strategies to meet market demands effectively. Documents all customer interactions, sales activities, and market intelligence in the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Other Duties: Completes other duties as required.

Technical / Functional Competencies:

  • Poultry Production: a deep understanding of production parameters such as growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and livability and mortality.
  • Hatchery Knowledge: Biosecurity, engineering, automation, and environment.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: constructing compelling and professional visuals, presentations, and verbal storytelling.
  • Technical Acumen: ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling way.

Qualifications:

  • Education - A bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Marketing, Business Management, or associated discipline is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Work Experience - Successful commercial sales experience, with specific experience in managing contracts and negotiations, with experience closing multi-million-dollar deals and building long-term customer relationships. Previous experience in technical sales in the animal health or automation sector is preferred.
  • Other - Must have direct poultry live production and/or vaccine or pharmaceutical (medicated feed additive) experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to ride in a plane or vehicle for up to 8 hours daily.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work remotely or from a satellite office.

Travel Required:

  • 50% domestic travel required. Some international travel, up to 5% annually.
