Attribute Defect Locator (Sorter)

Starting Wage 22.74

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assure product quality by inspecting work in process and finished product.
  • A working knowledge of understanding a variety of attribute defects.
  • Must have good hand to eye coordination.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

(This position is directed by established procedures and policies with guidance by management)

  • Inspect work in process by the following procedures:
  • Remove samples and inspect for visual defects by company product known visual standards.
  • Perform functional testing such as, but not limited to, open ability, panel, buckle, coating integrity, helium, weld overlaps, fillets, rips by using specific testing equipment and devices.
  • Troubleshoot production problems by the following procedures:
  • Report results of findings to line mechanic, quality monitor, quality analyst and/or supervisor for corrective action.
  • Inspect finished goods by the following procedures:
  • Verify correct end sleeve counts and packaging.
  • Verify correct can pallet pattern and layer counts and packaging.
  • Assure product is clearly and correctly marked for identification.
  • Assure skids and pallets are properly loaded for stacking and/or shipping.
  • Assure product is free of damage or outside foreign contamination.
  • Sort to established sorting standards and keep accurate records of sorting activity.
  • Record all sorting activity on the defective materials tags.
  • Report to Q.A. defective product to be held out for further investigation and assure defective held product is accurately and properly identified as to product and defect description.
  • Assure that any defect held product is removed from normal location and moved to identified holdout area.
  • Verify proper C.O.C and material identification.

(This position is directed by established procedures and policies with guidelines of the Quality Manager or production supervision.)

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, reach, crawl, stand during 15% of the workday.
  • Understand basic SPC concepts (i.e. trend, run, out of control, etc.).
  • Must have visual acuity.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write, and work from verbal or written instructions.
  • Maintain verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, quality monitor, quality analyst, and Quality Manager.
  • Ability to become computer proficient.
  • Perform additional duties as required by management

(The above duties may be performed anywhere from 0-100% of the work day.)

SAFETY AND GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING

  • Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices.
  • Ensure lock out/tag out procedure is used at all times required and advise co-workers.
  • Remove debris throughout the facility
  • Notify supervisor(s) of any observed safety hazards.
  • Keep workstations clean.
