Process Training Team

What You'll Do

Staff Process Instructor responsible for developing Deposition process courses and delivering instructor-led process training for Lam's Deposition products.

Conducts process technical training sessions for both customers and Lam employees for multiple products and time zones.

Works very closely with cross functional teams from various disciplines - Subject Matter Experts, customer support engineers - to determine applicability of the course material to the training requirements.

Course development project management to ensure timely completion of the training materials. Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Some travel may be required (10-15%).

The target audiences are customers and Lam engineers (process, product, field support, etc.) with varying academic and industry experience levels.

Other Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Customer Relations

Acts as a resource for colleagues and students.

Works with cross-functional teams to get information and results needed.

Conducts technical literature research to fill in theoretical/mechanism knowledge gaps.

Drives improvements of existing courses through periodic updates, and develops new courses based on the latest product evolutions.

Professionally represents the company to the customer.

Leverages knowledge of Lam's product lines and services to keep existing/potential customers informed.

Acts as a liaison between customers and account team engineers to ensure their process technical questions are addressed in the training materials.

Must be passionate about teaching!

Who We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • B. S. or equivalent with 12+ years of work experience; or
  • M.S. with 8+ years of relevant work experience; or
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics with 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, or having worked on, Lam Deposition tools.
  • Have experience or fundamental understanding of vapor (PECVD, PEALD) and/or electrochemical deposition methods.
  • An excellent understanding of Deposition plasma and process fundamentals.
  • Able to relate process fundamentals and mechanisms to process results.
  • Good understanding of the aspects of chamber design its impact on process results.
  • Good device integration knowledge to explain how and where the customer's specific application fits into the overall device fabrication for Logic, Memory, etc.
  • Familiarity with working in the semiconductor industry, and a working knowledge of Lam Deposition product lines.
  • Excellent people skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
  • Experience in developing training content and conducting training sessions.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
