The Cybersecurity Intern will be responsible for assisting in monitoring and protecting our organization's IT infrastructure from cyber threats. This position will participate in the continuous monitoring of security systems, assisting in incident analysis and response, and analyzing potential security threats. They will assist in documenting and reporting incidents, promote security awareness, and support the implementation of security measures. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with basic familiarity with security tools and technologies.
Goals for this position will include: Deployment and maintenance of CyberARK PAM solution DC Hardening Develop PowerBI dashboard for Cybersecurity Metrics Data Loss Prevention w/ Microsoft Purview Other Duties may include: Participate in documenting and reporting security incidents and breaches. Support in maintain accurate records of security events and actions taken to address them. Participate in monitoring security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) tools, to identify and respond to potential security incidents. Assist in analyzing and assess potential security threats and vulnerabilities using various tools and techniques. Help in identifying patterns and trends that could indicate potential security risks. Assist in promoting security awareness within the organization by participating in training sessions and disseminating information on best practices and security policies. Help in the protection of sensitive data through encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention (DLP) measures. Assist in the initial analysis and investigation of security alerts and incidents. Escalate incidents to higher-level analysts as needed and contribute to the mitigation and remediation efforts. Support identification of endpoints missing protection. Aid in deploying and managing endpoint protection solutions, such as antivirus software, secure web gateway, zero trust network access, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools. Analyze security logs from various systems and devices to identify and investigate suspicious activities. Enrolled in an acredited IT program with a Jr. or Sr. standing with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Ability to qualify for a security clearance which typically means U.S. Citizenship and a clean background. RENK America is an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V |
