Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is an important member of the site's leadership team and has overall responsibility for maintenance of all plant equipment and site facilities. They directly supervise all Maintenance Technicians and Contractors on site. They will ensure safe work practices are followed in all aspects of maintenance and contractor work. They will contribute toward maintaining the site's ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications by building/maintaining a strong PM program and developing/following documented procedures. As the building is leased, facilities management is generally limited to the building's internal facilities such as HVAC, utilities, compressed air, etc., and excludes most exterior work such as grounds maintenance.

Essential Functions



  • Acts as a Leader in Safety by demonstrating safety in all areas of their work and making safety the top priority.
  • Plans, coordinates and oversees equipment and facilities maintenance, rebuilds, and upgrades including sourcing Contractors to perform work as needed.
  • Directly oversees Maintenance Technicians and site Contractors.
  • Develops programs, procedures and practices and holds employees accountable to them to ensure they work safely and achieve high quality results at acceptable cost levels.
  • Manages and continuously improves the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Provides advisory support to the plant engineering group and works collaboratively to provide maintenance resources that balance project needs with reactive and preventative maintenance needs.
  • Maintains plant engineering standards and compliance.
  • Drives the cultural changes necessary for the organization including ensuring direct reports are held accountable for following plant policies/procedures and contributing to a collaborative and constructive culture.
  • Resolves personnel conflicts and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Develops systems and uses applicable tools to improve understanding of maintenance costs and utility measures relative to overall goals of reliability.
  • Manages parts inventory and procurement processes to properly support plant needs, including evaluating/maintaining critical spare parts and optimizing parts organization for efficient use and identification of gaps.
  • Manages small to large capital projects necessary for maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

Education and Experience



  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance management preferred, including CMMS, employee supervision, budgeting and capital control.


OR



  • 3-5 years related experience in an engineering role with technical experience in equipment operation and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • Skilled in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong team-player and self-starter.

Physical Demands



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level is loud.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
