The Material Handler's role supports the management of material, to include government/customer furnished property or equipment and Trident Inventory, that has been procured or provided in support of business unit programs and/or initiatives, from receipt, inspection, tracking and audit through delivery or disposition. Duties and Responsibilities This role's key responsibilities are:
- Track physical and transactional accountability of material in accordance with company procedures, external regulations and financial standards.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary information to perform and document the following processes:
- Receive and inspect incoming packages to verify quantities received against bills of lading, purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Complete, provide and maintain documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Enter receipt data, as applicable, into appropriate databases (accounting and property systems).
- Generate and apply property labels/tags, as applicable.
- Communicate and route materials to appropriate departments for inspection or use.
- Coordinate and obtain return authorizations upon request.
- Issue, kit or relocate material in accordance with generated work orders or requests.
- Answer questions and generate reports on inventory status.
- Ensure inventory rooms are organized and clean.
- Follow established safety, filing organization and lock-up standards.
- Maintain physical inventory and CAP material in accordance with company procedures.
- Tracks FIFO.
- Support internal audits upon request.
- Support external audits upon request.
- Coordinate shipments and deliveries as well as ensure that appropriate forms are completed and reviewed (consigned material, deliverables, RMAs, etc.).
- Work closely with and provide backup support to the Material Manager. Routinely interface with Program/Production Managers, Planners, Safety Mission and Assurance, Accounting & Finance, Purchasing and Contracts departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in inventory and/or government property management
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory management policies and procedure; Government property FAR/DFAR requirements.
- Acts with honesty and integrity; ability to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and practices.
- Maintains a friendly and positive attitude; works as a team to achieve company initiatives.
- Organized, detailed, dependable and customer-oriented.
- Effective analytical, oral and written communication skills for internal and external customer/vendor relations and interfaces.
- Microsoft Office applications; experience with Microsoft Navision
- Ability to work in dynamic environment and multitask efficiently.
- Experience working with all levels of internal and external customers.
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Export regulations (ITAR/EAR).
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR pertaining to Government Property.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision and Access Databases
- NPMA Certification
