Description

Assist shop technicians in the repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines.

Primary Job Responsibilities:



  • Does shop cleanup
  • Works well with co-workers
  • Must work safely
  • Must be able to cooperate
  • Assists in the repair of shop and/or field work
  • Must do service reports, timecards, and other paperwork in a legible, understandable manner
  • Assist the Class A, B and Journeyman Mechanic where required and observe closely to gain additional knowledge
  • Must take advantage of any and all service schools and training programs that are offered by the company
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its' divisions
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must have GED, High School Diploma, trade school or special service training preferred
  • Technical background or related experience in engine maintenance and repair preferred



Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):



  • Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
  • Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle
  • Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation
  • Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend and twist several times a day
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
  • Must maintain good client relations
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
  • Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
  • Must have basic set of hand tools
  • Must have basic engine knowledge
  • Must protect the company assets and interests



Working Conditions:



  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekend hours as necessary
  • Outside work as required
