Enterprise Cybersecurity Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will be accountable for the network cyber solution stack, ensure network solution controls are appropriately configured, and continually reduce network cybersecurity risk. You will ensure network solutions such as firewalls, DNS, F5, or WAF and their configurations throughout the environment, including on-prem and cloud-based networks, meet Booz Allen's security standards. This includes developing and promoting configuration policy changes in partnership with the Network Team, monitoring compliance, performing regular assessments to identify and remediate any deviations, and working closely with the network teams to promote cybersecurity culture. You will originate, facilitate, and lead IT and security teams efforts to deploy and maintain network protection solutions, ensuring that all networks are properly configured to defend against emerging threats. Your expertise in network configuration management will be crucial in maintaining a secure and resilient IT environment. Additionally, you'll partner with cyber threat and security operations to drive threat-informed configurations.

You will perform security reviews based on the security stack philosophies and standards, with a primary responsibility for leading network security outcomes in collaboration with technical sector experts. You'll provide an integrated security ecosystem to deter, detect, defend, and respond to business-impacting security, operational security, and risk issues related to networks and their configurations.

You'll leverage skills in independently conducting technical analysis of security and business problems, as well as threats, incidents, investigations, workforce protection, and other general security-related issues. You'll communicate and participate in coordinating response and defensive actions over a variety of security disciplines, disseminating technical information as appropriate in support of Booz Allen's critical business, go-to-market, and operational infrastructure needs.

You Have:

• 7+ years of experience with network IT solution management, including Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, or Arista

• 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity solution involvement, including firewall, DNS, load balancer, or WAF

• Experience with network solution configuration management, including policy creation, configuration tuning, and change management for common Industry cyber solutions such as F5, Palo Alto, CheckPoint, or Sophos

• Experience with network cybersecurity configuration management and monitoring tools such as Openview, SL1, Tufin, or Algosec and TCP/IP protocols and traffic optimization techniques

• Experience with Network cyber logging and building queries to gain a further understanding of configuration control quality, including Splunk

• Knowledge of system, network, application, and security architectures, cybersecurity solutions, key cyber processes like incident handling, risk measurement, and change management, and key cyber threats, including nation state actors, malware or ransomware, command and control infrastructures, and mitigations

• Ability to collaborate with the professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with technologists and leaders across the enterprise

• Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems, draw logical conclusions, make sound decisions, develop solutions, and drive closure

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience working in the cyber industry, or 7+ years of experience working in the cyber industry in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with programming or scripting languages

• Knowledge of the use of databases for reporting, including SQL language

• Knowledge of the applications of Artificial Intelligence in security

• Ability to design, deploy, and maintain security solutions and configurations in enterprise class organizationswith over 1,000 network assets

• IT Engineering Certification
