Summary/Purpose of the Position:

The Manufacturing Planner creates job packages, coordinates, and assists production to ensure 100% on-time delivery of all customer orders. This role manages product or service-related needs and issues with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism. The Manufacturing Planner drives the job travelers through the facility, providing visibility and accountability throughout the organization with the sole purpose to achieve operational excellence and a high level of customer service.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Using ERP system (Epicor or SX), create (travelers) and review jobs, bill of materials (BOM), bill of operations (BOO), and part numbers (when necessary).
  • Collaborate with the on-site Customer Service Representative (CSRs) to properly schedule production work orders/jobs based on promised ship date(s).
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Coordinator and/or Corporate Buyer to ensure that raw materials are ordered in the correct amount and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that enough raw materials are available and issued prior to production campaigns.
  • Provide ship dates to CSRs based on material availability, quoted lead times, and current capacity.
  • Manage customer requests for schedule changes or revision level changes by working with and across departments including purchasing, engineering/estimating, customer service, quality, etc.
  • Champion customer requirements through frequent, clear communications to internal departments within the plant to ensure 100% on time delivery is achieved.
  • Follow all AS9100, Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, work instructions, and use only approved forms as documented in the Company's QMS.
  • Ensure that key customer documents are properly stored in both the ERP system and external shared drives.


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 2+ years as a senior operator preferred.
  • Experience leading Lean Six Sigma and or Kaizen projects a plus
  • Organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to drive, motivate, influence, and sustain positive change.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, punctual, and conscientious about production performance.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic mathematical principles
  • Working knowledge of general accident prevention practices.
  • Operations, services, techniques, practices, and principles of a customer service program.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. when necessary.
