Basic Functions

This is a full-time temporary assignment that is estimated to last no longer than 60 days. Substitutes are permitted to work up to 40hrs per week. These assignments do not include additional benefits.

The Welcome Center is a fast-paced, dynamic environment serving a diverse group of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide a variety of outreach and support services for Enrollment and Retention Services. Coordinate a variety of outreach, recruitment, and new student orientation functions including program advisement, pre-enrollment, assistance and support services to facilitate, enhance and assure smooth and successful student enrollment at the College.

Representative Duties


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Welcome Center and serve as a technical resource to students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding student enrollment functions.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide detailed and technical information about enrollment processes, standards, practices, requirements, timelines, policies, and procedures. Ensure the proper and timely resolution of related issues and conflicts.
  • Supervise and manage Welcome Center student hourly workers, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.
  • Provide enrollment-related support, including guidance on application processes, orientation, registration, class schedule changes, holds, error messages, and other student services.
  • Direct individuals to the appropriate resources or departments within the College when necessary.
  • Work closely with Student Services Departments to stay informed of updates and changes that may impact the enrollment process.
  • Ensure Welcome Center staff are kept up to date on current College policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Serve as the point person and manage enrollment-related software systems.
This position is required to work on campus during all business hours.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree with major coursework in sociology, social work, psychology or related field and one year experience working with secondary and post-secondary school-aged students in an educational setting.

Bilingual preferred

  • Monday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Participate in providing consultation and assistance to prospective and current students, parents and the public concerning College admissions, enrollment, programs and services
Participate in travel for outreach services
Ability to work evenings and weekends when required for special events
Assist program participants with obtaining and maintaining program enrollment
Monitor the attendance, goals, and progress of program participants
Understand and relate to students with special needs
Learn department and program objectives and goals Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing and make presentations
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Compile and verify data and prepare reports
Maintain records
Compose correspondence and written materials related to assigned activities.
