Cyber Security Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA (on-site). You will join MSEIT (MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration and Test) team in support of SSC (Space Systems Command) in El Segundo who will provide Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity support for the MILSATCOM Capability area. The MILSATCOM portfolio of programs has an ongoing need for IA/Cybersecurity support, to meet the needs of our emerging next-generation protected SATCOM.

As a Cyber Security Engineer with MTSI, will join MSEIT (MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration and Test) team in support of SSC (Space Systems Command) in El Segundo who will provide Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity support for the MILSATCOM Capability area. The MILSATCOM portfolio of programs has an ongoing need for IA/Cybersecurity support, to meet the needs of our emerging next-generation protected SATCOM.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the Air Force's Space and Missiles System Center. We support the Air Force's acquisition state of the art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• Lead End Crypto Unit (ECU) development and certification on Protected Tactical programs.
• Interface with contractors and NSA regarding certification of multiple program ECUs.
• Oversee cryptography related changes to technical baseline.
• Manage crypto-related risks.
• Lead cryptographic requirement tracing to mission threads.

• 6+ years Crypto Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience with Protected Tactical programs.
• Experience in Systems Engineering, to include cyber security and cryptography.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the use of JIRA & Confluence.

Certifications Desired:

• OCSMP Level 2 certification.

Education Requirements:

• BS degree in systems engineering.
• MS degree in systems engineering, (Desired).

Clearance Requirements:

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

The pay range for this position in California is $120,000/year to $170,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job- related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
