ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:



  • For Service, Technical Support, Marketing & Sales Roles: Additional compensation is available through either an Incentive and/or Commission Plan.
  • For Employees who reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and California: Additional compensation is offered through a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)



Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a skilled Demo Inventory Coordinator to join our team in Columbia, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the inventory and logistics of our demo and pre-owned equipment, ensuring the accuracy of records, and maintaining the flow of materials within our warehouse. Your tasks will include controlling and redistributing equipment, conducting inventory counts, and supporting the sales team by ensuring equipment availability.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



  • Control, allocate, ship, recover, and redistribute demo and pre-owned equipment.
  • Develop plans to balance demo inventory levels to agreed-upon targets while enhancing cash flow and profitability.
  • Review demo orders for part number, serial number, and location accuracy to ensure all items sold match purchase orders.
  • Monitor equipment returns (RMA) to determine disposition regarding repair or refurbishment for resale.
  • Work with other departments to facilitate the movement of demo equipment and coordinate inventory across regions with VP of Sales/Marketing approval.
  • Conduct bi-annual physical inventory counts at the corporate office and assist regional offices with their counts.
  • Collaborate with the MarCom Coordinator to locate and ship demo equipment as needed.
  • Manage lab demo equipment in collaboration with Marketing Managers/Coordinators.
  • Maintain the demo and pre-owned (UC) equipment inventory area to ensure an organized and efficient process.



EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or related work experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in inventory management or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes and systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and general PC operations.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a technical sales organization is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

This non-exempt, full-time position offers a starting salary range of $54,000 to $56,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Eligible benefits include a 401K matching program and discretionary yearly contributions, with detailed information provided at the final interview stage.

In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 scheduled holidays, and 3 floating holidays. After one year, you'll have access to a generous short-term disability program, with premiums fully covered by the company. Employees are insured at 100% of their salary for the first 6 weeks and 66 2/3% for weeks 7 to 12.

As a non-exempt role, you will also be eligible for overtime and double time pay according to employee handbook guidelines. Additional variable compensation may include a discretionary year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
