Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Strategic Planner to support the USSPACECOM J5 with strategic and contingency planning. The ideal candidate will bring a broad skill set, significant experience, and the ability to conduct strategic analysis, evaluate risks, and develop actionable plans that align with national-level objectives.

Responsibilities:



  • Conduct strategic analysis and assess challenges at strategic, campaign, and operational levels.
  • Provide expert insight into the strategic environment to support strategy development and contingency planning.
  • Perform combatant command-level staff actions and develop recommendations for senior military personnel.
  • Translate national strategic objectives into actionable operational plans.
  • Conduct strategic and operational risk assessments.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, presentations, and reports for senior-level audiences.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Active Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Proficiency in executing military planning processes (e.g., Joint Planning Process, Military Decision-Making Process).
  • Strong understanding of the Joint Planning Process and linking strategic objectives to operational tasks.
  • Experience working on high-level military staff supporting senior leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaboratively address strategic and operational problems.
  • Experience presenting complex concepts to senior military personnel.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Planning experience at operational or theater levels (e.g., Combatant Command, Joint/Combined Task Force, Component).
  • Familiarity with multi-domain operations integration.
  • Experience leading strategic and contingency planning efforts.
  • Master's degree in history, military studies, international relations, or a related field.
  • Graduate of Joint Professional Military Education Level II (JPME II).
  • Graduate of an advanced military planning school (e.g., School of Advanced Air and Space Science [SAASS], School of Advanced Military Studies [SAMS], or School of Advanced Warfighting [SAW]).

Salary Range: $120,000-$135,000
