We are seeking an innovative and experienced leader to head our Data Sciences department. This role focuses on leading a team of data scientists dedicated to the discovery, development, and delivery of complex genomic clinical insights. The team also drives innovations, new machine-learning-driven products, and enhancements to existing products, all aimed at advancing transplant patient care. As a critical member of CareDx leadership, this position involves participating in strategy setting, portfolio planning, and development. The role also includes fostering innovations and collaborations that drive company growth. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of rigorous data science methodologies to improve transplant patient outcomes, positioning CareDx as the most innovative diagnostic company. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute a forward-thinking, patient-centric data science strategy and innovation roadmap closely aligned with CareDx's overall business objectives and vision. Collaboration: Foster strong and strategic partnerships and technological advancements with cross-functional stakeholders. Collaborate with teams including R&D, IT, Commercial, Regulatory, and others to discover, develop, and evolve clinical testing and digital offerings. Drive and support partnerships with academic institutions, industrial collaborators, and cutting-edge technology providers to exemplify CareDx's valuable data insights and stay at the forefront of data science advancement. Innovation and Development: Drive innovation in data science to extract meaningful insights from complex genomic, clinical, and real-world data. Be instrumental in creating, enriching, and enhancing CareDx's innovation platforms. Oversee the development and implementation of current and future machine-learning-driven genomic/clinical tests. Team Management: Build and manage a high-performing data science team. Recruit and retain top talent; diligently track performance and provide timely, constructive feedback and mentorship. Clearly communicate strategic directions and how they align with each individual's deliverables and performance. Foster a highly collaborative and productive working environment. Actively manage the department's resource allocation and budget to best align with CareDx's overall priorities and vision. Executive Presence: Represent CareDx at conferences, professional events, and stakeholder meetings to promote the company's innovation and data science capabilities. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in leadership roles within the healthcare technology or diagnostics industry. Strong understanding of genomics, molecular diagnostics, and personalized medicine. Proven track record of successfully developing clinical genomic testing and creating innovation platforms Experience with applied data science, real world evidence, and big data analytics in healthcare applications. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving collaborative projects. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
