Overview

ENERCON is seeking a leader to join our team supporting nuclear design across the industry. With a focus on leadership of technical instrumentation and controls engineering teams, this position promises professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact within the highly desirable and growing energy sector. The instrumentation and controls group is responsible for detailed analyses and interface design of nuclear plant components like Plant process computers, control valves, transmitters, process sensors (temperature, pressure, flow, seismic, level, and neutron flux), isolators, programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human machine interface (HMI) and more. They also perform modification, replacement, and analysis of nuclear plant systems like process control and protection systems, digital upgrades, communication systems, lighting systems, heat trace systems, physical security systems, and fire detection and protection systems. You will ensure designs meet stringent safety and regulatory requirements. As well as prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and studies, documenting engineering analyses, findings, and recommendations. You may also provide installation and commissioning support of installed/modified systems at client sites.

  • Supervision & Accountability: As a leader, you will guide an engineering unit, empowering work group leads and staff to excel in their roles. By collaborating with Project Managers and lead engineers, you'll define the vision and scope for projects, ensuring that each team member's workload is balanced and that quality remains paramount. You will take ownership of the unit's budget and schedule, driving the team towards timely, impactful results. Your oversight will ensure that engineering documents meet the highest standards, with every detail aligned to state and local regulations.
  • Business Development: You'll play a key role in shaping the future of the unit, leading the preparation of proposals that define both scope and budget. By fostering meaningful relationships with clients, you'll position the team as a trusted partner, while promoting the unit's expertise and abilities. Your contributions will directly influence the growth and success of the business.
  • Leadership & Staff Development: You'll inspire growth by identifying opportunities for site work and championing training initiatives that foster both personal and professional development. Through insightful feedback and mentorship, you'll guide team members to reach their full potential, helping them achieve certifications, licenses, and client qualifications. You'll use your expertise to resolve technical challenges, leading the way and supporting the Client Engineering Manager in executing innovative Continuous Improvement Plans that elevate the entire unit.
  • Organizational Support: As a cornerstone of the team, you'll ensure the seamless allocation of resources across projects, anticipating staffing needs and maintaining efficient workflows. Your leadership will extend to approving timesheets, expense reports, and conducting performance appraisals that help each team member grow. You'll also play a critical role in recruiting top talent, ensuring that the unit remains equipped to meet the challenges of the future.
  • Contribution to Business Goals: You'll set the pace for success by consistently meeting and exceeding time goals and performance targets for your position, division, and discipline. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall success of the business, driving excellence at every level.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience including experience supporting the nuclear power industry
  • 2+ Years of experience leading employees as a lead or supervisor
  • PE License in one or more states and able to obtain licenses in other states as necessary
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites. Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with the team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong coordination and team building skills; demonstrated the ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams. Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust the level of support/oversight as appropriate
  • Ability to motivate the team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON's Defining Excellence fundamentals
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills
  • Required to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.
