Systems Engineer
Contingent upon customer approval
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer in Dahlgren, VA.
- The Systems Engineer performs routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
Job Description:
- Assists in various types of electronic systems such as C4I, Combat Systems, Communication Systems, etc.
- Duties include: system design, integration, modification, testing, installation engineering, and design engineering, developing and reviewing equipment test plans and procedures, conducting analyses, analyzing test results, and recommending design changes to bring systems into compliance with design/performance specifications.
- Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
- Coordinates, computes, or synthesizes engineering or technical data.
- Uses prescribed mathematical formulae and/or models to calculate measures of performance characteristics for electronic systems.
- Supervises technical staff assigned to project.
- Duties include the training of project personnel in the procedures and approaches available for the work effort.
Qualifications:
- Must have a BA in Engineering + 2 years Exp. OR BA in the Physical Sciences (i.e., Physics, Chemistry, etc.) or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) + 10 years Exp. in the application of systems engineering principles and discipline.
- Must have the ability to supervise technical personnel.
- Must be able to apply standard practices and techniques to complex situations and recognize discrepancies.
- Must have the ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (briefings, presentations, training, etc) to internal and external customers.
- Must have the ability to use prescribed mathematical formulas and models to calculate measures for assemblies, equipment or systems.
- Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs and of standard test equipment to identify and isolate problems (i.e., digital meters, oscilloscopes, strain and pressure gauges), preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per hour
