Salary: $29.95 - $36.00/hourly Summary: The Team Leader - Maintenance is responsible for maintaining and fixing equipment, appliances, electrical systems, and implementing preventative maintenance on machinery. The goal of the Team Leader - Maintenance is to operate safely while ensuring the plant is geared towards maximum production and efficiency. The Team Leader - Maintenance position is responsible for championing all safety regulations and wearing proper PPE while completing all repairs/checks. Essential Functions:
- Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.
- Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions.
- Competent with programming of VFD's.
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's
- Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
- Work closely with plant staff to provide a safe work environment.
- Facilitate implementation of the preventive maintenance programs. Ensure all production machines are running at maximum efficiency.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and make necessary repairs on machinery during mechanical or electrical breakdown situations in a timely manner.
- Initiate corrective/preventative and continuous improvement opportunities and actively participate in developing, implementing and verifying these actions.
- Work with the Plant Manager and Shift Supervisor to schedule and/or perform any preventative or regular maintenance to ensure reduction of downtime.
- Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
- Provide support to ensure that the Plant meets conversion costs goals as it relates to R&M.
- Provide weekly progress reports to Plant Manager.
- Ensure timely orders of materials and parts for the plant.
- Responsible for plant systems and support equipment.
- Responsible for the plant's R&M and Operating Supplies.
- Audit production equipment.
- Facilitate and adhere to the Lock-out Tag-out, Hot Work Permit, Confined Space Entry, Workplace Inspections, OSHA Inspections, Safety Bulletin, General Safety, and Respiratory Protection Safety Programs.
- Following instructions and performing all duties as directed by Management Representatives of the company.
- Interact with Plant Manager to develop, implement and facilitate training programs for Maintenance personnel.
- Assist production in whatever the needed capacity (within trained knowledge) to ensure that quality and productivity standards and goals are met.
- Immediately notify Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager of all Safety issues or concerns that may put production employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers with approval of management. This also includes "near miss" situations.
- Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
- Assist in the organization, management and upkeep of shop and parts inventory.
- Keep the work area clean (housekeeping).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED with Associate's degree preferred. Experience:
- 5-7 years of manufacturing maintenance technician w/ leadership experience preferred.
- Welding with MIG/arc welder, Electrical, PLC's, FL, and Lathe operation experience.
