SUMMARY

Hallmark Media's Content Strategy department is looking for an Intern, Ad-Supported Programming for the summer. This position will consist of various projects on an as-needed basis, with a focus on content understanding in the ad-supported cable landscape business. Additionally, the intern will be provided an opportunity to learn television programming strategy and exposure into how a major ad-supported television network operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Conduct content metadata tagging related to original movie premieres, tv-series acquisitions, stunt scheduling, and seasonal opportunities.
  • Track competitive networks' programming and scheduling strategies and present findings in presentations for the Content Strategy department.
  • Update the Network's Standards & Practices SOP (standard operating procedure) and screen incoming content for S&P compliance.
  • Assist the Content Strategy team on ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS




  • Rising junior or recent graduate from a four-year university, with a major in Film/ Television Studies or Humanities.
  • Proficient computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office suite.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS




  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong eye for detail, an ability to meet deadlines, a positive attitude, and an eagerness to contribute.
  • Well-organized and excels at time management, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions, but not hesitant to ask questions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; works well collaboratively and independently.
  • Very comfortable with heavy internet research and data entry.
  • Passionate and avid watcher of TV Shows and Movies.
  • Excitement to read, interpret, and talk about Nielsen ratings.
  • Eagerness to learn about Linear TV Programming and Scheduling.
  • Passion for watching Rom-Coms, Mysteries, and Holiday Movies.



The hourly range for this job is $17.27. Hourly rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
