The University of Iowa (UI) College of Engineering invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor for theSpring2025 academic semester. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. inCivil and EnvironmentalEngineering or a related field.

About us

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a vibrant, collegial, research-active department with 19 tenure-track faculty, 250 undergraduate students, and 70 graduate students. The department is centrally located in the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences which enables frequent and regular opportunities for engagement with students, faculty, and staff throughout the College of Engineering. CEE has an established global reputation for research innovation and holds leadership positions within several college-wide research units, particularly at IIHR Hydroscience and Engineering, the Iowa Flood Center, and the Center for Hydrologic Development. Education Requirement:



  • Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related discipline


Required Qualifications:



  • Ability to teach and develop courses inCivil and Environmental Engineering curriculum


Desirable Qualifications:



  • Experience in teaching undergraduate engineering courses
  • Interest in advancing engineering education
  • Interest in teaching graduate courses in civil and environmental engineering
