Title: Health Education Communications Consultant $30.31 - $43.65 / Posted Thru: 1-23-25 Part-Time / 20 Hours Per Week Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan Purpose: The Communications Consultant will create and manage communications and health education information within the Oral Health Section in the Division of Child and Adolescent Health (DCAH). This part-time position will coordinate various oral health messages and projects, ensuring deliverables are complete and timely. Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, Health Education, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Three to five years working as health educator, communications professional or as project coordinator/manager. Experience and/or knowledge of chronic disease and oral health is preferred, but not required. Important Skills and Characteristics:
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 25% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment. May require valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility. IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position plays a critical role in communicating key issues, messages, and actions regarding the strength of evidence-based preventive dental services to a wide variety of audiences. Because these initiatives are complex, statewide, and involve many stakeholders, development and implementation of strong and effective communication strategies and are critical to engaging a variety of perspectives. This position also plays a key role in ensuring development and completion of projects that support the inclusion of oral health within the larger health system in Michigan. REQUIRED COMMUNICATION
