Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Part Time

$20.94 to $23.03 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Titusville/Enchanted Forest Sanctuary. Part-time/up to 24 hours per week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs experienced technical work planning and presenting educational nature programs to schools, community groups, summer camps, park patrons, and the public at County parks, nature sanctuaries, meeting rooms, classrooms, and school grounds.

REQUIREMENTS:A total of two (2) years of college-level education, paid experience, and/or volunteer work pertaining to the natural sciences, natural resources, the environment, teaching, presentation of tours, plants, animals, forestry, horticulture, and/or a closely related field, including six (6) months of experience dealing with the public and/or school children. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Familiarity with Project Wild is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a valid basic first aid certification and a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved agency and maintain both certifications during the term of employment. The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5). In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
