This role is within Chamberlain Group's Finance function. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Serve as technical expert in SAP, BI, BPC and salesforce.com; develop queries and tools that support business analytics; create and maintain business process documentation and support continuous improvement; act as a first line of support for end users in finance and be the "go to" resource for questions and issues and (ii) Drive the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes and related analysis salesforce and sales operations SG&A spend, ensure budgets and forecasts are aligned with strategic direction, facilitate budgeting/forecasting and analysis of strategic initiatives. Education requirements include: Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting; Experience requirements include: 2+ years of financial analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical expert in SAP, BI, BPC and salesforce.com; develop queries and tools that support business analytics; create and maintain business process documentation and support continuous improvement; act as a first line of support for end users in finance and be the "go to" resource for questions and issues

  • Drive the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes and related analysis for salesforce and sales operations SG&A spend; ensure budgets and forecasts are aligned with strategic direction, facilitate budgeting/forecasting and analysis of strategic initiatives

  • Manage cost center spend and be responsible for proper accrual and reporting of Sales SG&A discretionary spend; coach business partners on purchase order management and ensure expense accruals are booked according to accounting policy on a monthly basis; provide training and support to drive financial acumen across functions

  • Provide stakeholders with analysis supporting business decisions, participate in sales, marketing & finance meetings; assist with regular financial performance and forecast reviews, ensure accuracy of financial results, analyses, and forecasts

  • Maintain account reconciliations and analyze customer and channel specific programs related to volume rebates, retail sales commissions, builder rebates, retailer fines and other sales/deduction/claim related accruals; monthly responsibilities include review of monthly journal entries related to rebates, marketing and sales programs and other spend; also quarterly account reconciliation of related accounts

  • Communicate results of periodic analysis around functional area performance, including monthly results analysis, variance reporting, gross to net, and SGA expenses; full P&L and cost center variance analysis, assessment of the effectiveness of discount & rebate programs; analysis of projects and initiatives against goals; review of key customer financial performance and POS; periodic assessment of costs and margins

  • Coach business partners on proper revenue recognition related to accrual of customer sales and marketing programs to ensure expense accruals are booked according to accounting policy on a monthly basis

  • Update documentation related to policies & controls and facilitate compliance by preparing and providing audit requests during internal and year-end audits

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting

Experience:

  • 2+ years of financial analysis and strong knowledge of financial reporting relationships

  • 1+ year experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, power BI, SAC, ect)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ERP, data warehouse queries, and planning tools; strong knowledge of accounting concepts

Other:

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of time within North America

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Masters in Business Administration, CMA/CPA

Experience:

  • Experience working directly with Sales & Marketing or Business Unit leadership

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with SAP, BI, BPC; demonstrated ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance professionals

The payrange/rate of pay for this position is $61,000.00 - $98,500.00 ; base payoffered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
