This position is responsible for assisting and supporting the marketing strategies, efforts and branding initiatives for the HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams brand. The role requires a strategic thinker who will participate in and contribute to the development and execution of communication campaigns across all advertising mediums. This includes developing and executing strong brand stories that support the brands marketing objectives, increase brand awareness, drive conversion and consumer demand.

This role requires a base understanding of the following and will assist the Brand Manager in all aspects of marketing communications for the HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams brand across retail, including digital and print media, social media monitoring/content management, media relations (PR), events, website development, maintenance and updates, new product launch support, sales collateral development, merchandising, internal communications and all other forms of marketing communication materials.

This position must work cross-functionally with respective Channel, Sales, Product, Finance, Marketing Services, Legal and IT teams as well as outside agency and vendor management to ensure successful planning and execution of all programs. This person will assist in formulating the brand's long-term strategy, while adhering to the allocated budget. The position requires brand management knowledge as well as good analytical skills, strong cross-functional collaboration, process management, strategy development and understanding of P&L's, budget tracking and invoice processing.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability in leading successful brand initiatives; driving the implementation of strategic plans, an understanding in working with consumer insights and consumer needs, influencing cross-functional teams, and overseeing and prioritizing numerous projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Contributes to the development of strategic brand plans, ensuring that all brands creative delivers a consistent brand message which includes PR, social, websites, merchandising, and all collateral material.
  • Contributes to the development and subsequent execution of short- and long-term strategic plans, including business performance analysis, strategic objectives, tactical plans, and budgeting.
  • Develops superior working relationship with key individuals and groups that work in this category to effectively build relationships with critical cross-functional team members including: Channel, Sales, Finance, Marketing Services, IT, Legal, etc.
  • Manages advertising project budgets.
  • Interfaces with outside agencies.
  • Utilizes strong understanding of customer needs and challenges to execute marketing programs for the key retailers/channels
  • Serves as the brand expert of assigned product categories, closely monitoring competitive activity, strategy, pricing, strengths and weaknesses, as well as closely monitoring trends in the industry and related industries.
  • Participates in customer business meetings


EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field



KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • Assistant: 2+ years of Marketing Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred:



  • Experience with a large consumer brand with retail distribution
  • Experience with industrial/B2B and retail customers
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
