Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. Akamai is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to drive infrastructure security improvements and respond to incidents.

In this role, you will build and implement the security of Akamai's products by identifying and helping remediate vulnerabilities. You will be able to collaborate with industry-leading security experts on a global team.

As a Security Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Improving and automating existing vulnerability management lifecycle
  • Providing technical support and resolution for scanning and vulnerability remediation reporting issues and leading vulnerability management-related projects
  • Analyzing and prioritizing findings and provide recommendations for remediation
  • Identifying and assessing the potential impact of vulnerabilities specific to Akamai's environment, determine and implement mitigating controls
  • Triaging and filtering scan findings of web application, software, database, network, and system security assessments to identify, research, and eliminate false positives
  • Integrating security tools, standards, and processes into the security assessment process
  • Driving actionable metrics and reporting for operations and leadership transparency

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree
  • Have experience with automation, scripting, and orchestration to support large-scale operations
  • Know common vulnerabilities and exploits, and how to mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Have an understanding of various vulnerability scoring concepts like CVSS, EPSS, etc
  • Experience working with vendors to implement new configurations and troubleshoot issues on scanning utilities.
  • Have an overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $80,900 - $168,100/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
