Manager, Cloud Engineering - FedRAMP

Location: Remote, USA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience.

Summary

OneStream Software is a hyper-growth SaaS company focused on financial and operational data analytics for the largest companies in the world. We host our software on the Microsoft Azure cloud in many regions around the world using a variety of Azure technologies. This position will lead a cloud engineering and architecture team for the OneStream Cloud hosted offering to design, develop, and implement scalable and secure cloud architecture using the latest tooling and frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for applying software development practices to infrastructure & operations and a record of accomplishment of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. Skilled in executing transformative projects and practical application of technology; This person will consistently connect what is happening in the industry with developments in emerging technologies.

This role will be reporting directly to the Director of Cloud Engineering to help prioritize development of new service offerings to increase performance and security while reducing costs. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the development and maintenance of standards, participating on the OneStream Internal Audit Team, and coordinating Cloud implementations and environment support. A passion for technology and learning, and the ability to grow others are vital for success in this role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:



  • Recruit, lead, and manage high-performing engineering teams through mentorship, coaching, professional development while having fun and embracing individuality.
  • Leads teams to define, estimate, and implement requirements for new automations or services of moderate complexity needing development. Proactively remove roadblocks and friction to improve efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Prioritize and plan work across the team while addressing day-to-day issues.
  • Identify, enable, and implement opportunities for automation, process improvement, and architecture improvements.
  • Collaborate to define best practices and standards around public cloud services and platforms.
  • Ensure customer SLAs are maintained or exceeded.
  • Understanding practical use of SOC/FedRAMP controls to assist Compliance and Security teams.
  • Define and report on OKRs and SLOs to monitor process health and track continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, workflows, and knowledge-based articles.
  • Monitor team development budget and ensure sustained compliance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure and FedRAMP regulatory changes and industry trends, advising teams on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.


Secondary Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with other departments to ensure dependencies are identified and are informed of changes that affect them.
  • Provide support for level 2+ tickets and lead team members through technical hurdles and challenges.
  • Research emerging technologies and evaluate them for inclusion into our toolset.



Human Resources Management:



  • Oversee staff scheduling and task delegation.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and mentoring to cloud engineers.
  • Encourage professional development through the availability of appropriate training opportunities within the department.



Required Education and Experience



  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in systems engineering and infrastructure experience.
  • 2+ years of building and managing high-performing engineering teams or similar roles across development or operational teams.
  • Intermediate knowledge of application architecture and design.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and execute effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT Risk Management, Security Policies and Procedures, Internal Audit, and Compliance Standards as it pertains to SSAE SOC, ISO27001 and/or FedRAMP.
  • Experience leading teams with the following technologies, tools, and concepts:

    • Deploying and managing solutions hosted on major public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
    • Microsoft technology stack (Windows Server, .NET/C#, IIS, SQL Server, Active Directory)
    • Automating processes using PowerShell, CLI, Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
    • Strong understanding of Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) with container-based deployment skills or other platforms such as OpenShift, GKS, EKS.
    • Identity management using Azure AD, Okta, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML
    • Working knowledge of various cryptographic algorithms and protocols (IPsec, TLS, SSH, AES)
    • Network and application security device configuration and management (Barracuda or Palo Alto preferred)
    • Hands-on experience with orchestration, configuration management, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps Pipelines, git etc.)





Preferred Education and Experience



  • Experience working for a cloud service provider (CSP), managed service provider (MSP), or enterprise SaaS company.
  • Comfortable leading complex projects and see them through to delivery.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Public cloud certifications or training (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Any certifications such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CompTIA Security+, Cloud Platform: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
