Electrical Engineer Frisco, Texas Garver's growing Electrical team is seeking an
Electrical Engineer to join our Illumination Team. The Electrical Engineer will lead projects and design, while working with our staff on a wide array of transportation electrical projects, including roadway lighting, parking lot lighting, and EV charging. The Illumination Team is a group of entirely electrical engineers and designers that provide electrical and lighting design for municipal and DOT roadway projects, primarily focusing on lighting.
General responsibilities will include leading design for multiple electrical projects, managing a team to meet internal and external expectations, providing electrical design, and providing construction support as required for a variety of electrical projects including roadway lighting, parking lot lighting, EV charging, and electrical infrastructure projects.These projects will include photometric analysis as needed, and will including developing infrastructure improvements including the investigation, planning, design, and construction of electrical power, lighting, controls, communications, and other special systems.
The engineer will need to be able to manage the design of a project from initial kick off and site investigations, through construction and project close-out, while handling minor project management tasks as needed. The engineer will be working on multiple projects simultaneously with varying schedules and deadlines, so a successful engineer will need to be self-motivated and organized. This role requires coordination and communication with multiple other engineering disciplines and design groups, requiring efficient communication and documentation to maintain efficient communication. The engineer must be capable of handling shifting workloads and project schedules, utilizing a dynamic method of engineering to adjust as deadlines shift.
As responsibilities grow, this engineer will have the opportunity to work on projects throughout Garver's entire service area and with Garver's other business lines. The engineer may also perform onsite construction observation duties, construction administration and submittal reviews for projects under construction. This role provides the engineer with the freedom to lead and manage a team dedicated electrical engineers, with a team infrastructure that rewards creative thinking to complex solutions and self-motivated efforts to improve the team and overall design of these systems.
